This term in Grade 9 English we are looking at Australian texts, the first text being a picture book called 'The Rabbits'
by John Marsden and Shaun Tan.

The story is an allegory for the colonisation of Australia told by the perceptive of the indigenous Australians, using the concept of rabbits spreading and consuming the natives resources.

Students are learning how to interpret visual illustrations and simple text, learning about allegory and metaphor.
